Play
It Safe Ocean City Maryland for Graduates and Teens High school graduates can join in on the fun of the annual Play It Safe program available
at Ocean City
in June. Many drug-free and alcohol-free activities are planned for this year's graduates visiting the beach.
Play It Safe is a community-wide effort involving health, education, law enforcement, civic and business
representatives. It's goal is to encourage visiting high school grads to have responsible fun without the use of
alcohol and other drugs.
Last year's efforts contributed to
another consecutive year Ocean City's in June where no alcohol-related deaths or
serious injuries occurred among anyone under 21. Thousands of high school graduates attended Play It Safe
programs including beach volleyball contests, bowling, kayaking, miniture golf, windsurfing,
paintball, basketball, laser tag, and
rockclimbing activities, .
The Play It Safe Committee has very ambitious plans for the project. For more information, call: Ocean

OCPD also is involved in a closely related program called R.A.A.M. or "Reducing the Availability of Alcohol to
Minors." The RAAM Project is a community policing initiative addressing under-age drinking and its related
unacceptable behavior. An essential component of this program is the partnership formed with the lodging and
rental property community along with alcohol retailers, all working together to make Ocean City safer and more
enjoyable for everyone.
